ISYY 12th Annual Celebration

The 12th Annual Celebration of the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY) will be held 29th October 2022 in Kuopio, in Hotel IsoValkeinen. We warmly welcome all ISYY members and friends of ISYY to celebrate our Student Union. 

Programme

The Cocktail Reception for invited guests starts at 4:00 pm on Saturday 29th October at the Lukema (Yliopistonranta 3, 70211 Kuopio, Studentia-building C-door). If you want to give a greeting at the reception, please mention this in the registration form dedicated to the invited guests. There will be a bus carrying guests from the Cocktail Reception to the Anniversary Celebration. 

The Anniversary Celebration will be held in Hotel IsoValkeinen (Majaniementie 2, 70420 Kuopio), starting at 6:00 pm. Please arrive at least half an hour beforehand (5.50 pm) so we may start on time. The restaurant bar will be open to serve guests already before the dinner.

The programme will go on at the restaurant until 10.30 pm. After the official programme, the DJ will entertain us at the IsoValkeinen until 12. At midnight there will be a bus that carries guests to the official after party at nightclub Bar Nousu, where the most eager can party until 5:00 am (4:00 am). 

Dinner Cards and the Menu

The price of the dinner card is 95 euros for ISYY members and 120 euros for other guests. There are two dinner menu options available: meat and vegan. 

Starters

• Sugar-salted whitefish, dill crème, marinated apple, pumpkin seeds, roasted butternut squashes and fennel
• Avocado mousse, dill crème, marinated apple, pumpkin seeds, roasted butternut squashes and fennel (vegan)

Main

• Fried breast of duck with raspberry-balsamico sauce, warm potato-vegetable salad
• Horse bean steak with romesco sauce, warm potato-vegetable salad (vegan)

Dessert

• Chocolate fondant, apricot puree and whipped vanilla foam (vegan)

Dress Code

The dress code for the Annual Celebration is white tie or dark suit with academic decorations (e.g. medals, ribbons).

Herring Breakfast

On Sunday, 30 October, we will gather for the Herring Breakfast at 12:00 noon at the Lukema (Yliopistonranta 3, 70211). Breakfast is included in the price of the dinner card.

Transportation

For the Annual Celebration, free bus transport is available from Joensuu to Kuopio (Saturday 29th October before the Cocktail Reception) and from Kuopio to Joensuu (Sunday 30th October before the Herring Breakfast). The registered guests will be informed via email later about the transportation.

• NB! This transport is for the guests attending to the Cocktail Reception. The tranport is mainly for the guests arriving from Joensuu ant to those staying in the Lapland Hotel. There is only 58 seats in this bus, which means that we can't promise this transport to all Cocktail Reception Guests. In the further transports there is room for all of the guests.

Accommodation

Annual Celebration guests have the option to book hotel rooms at Lapland Hotels in Kuopio. Use the reservation code ALLISYY (valid untill 15th October 2022) during booking to get the room with fixed price. If you need a room, be sure to book it early as there are only a limited number of rooms available with the fixed price. Breakfast buffet, evening sauna and WiFi are included in the price. The reservation must be done via Lapland Hotels website. Prices: single 109 €/night, twin 119 €/night. The check in to the hotel is 3 pm and the check-out 12pm.

Registration and Payment Information

The registration for ISYY members will open at 12:00 noon on Wednesday 14th September 2022. Registration is done via the electronic form below. (NB! Invited guests, please use the link stated in the invite.)

Please use separate forms for each guest (e.g. for you and your avec). Registration is binding and we will send a confirmation message with information regarding billing to the guests. 

The registration will be closed on 9th October 2022.
