Sports & outdoors

  • Take breaks in between studying and go outside. This might cheer you up and you’ll focus better afterwards since your brain has had a break. Remember to keep a distance from others even when you’re enjoying fresh air! Check how to enjoy outdoors responsibly during this pandemic from the greeting section of this newsletter!
  • SYKETTÄ offers exercises online! Check out their YouTube channel where SYKETTÄ posts all of their workouts. You can do some of these workouts outside too.
  • Have you heard about geocaching? Try something new outside and go treasure hunting! Geocaching is almost like a small adventure in your hometown, because there are geogaches in almost every part of the World.
  • If you need motivation or a free personal trainer to boost your workouts, check out this article about the best fitness apps!
  • If you returned to your home country, self-quarantine is a great time for deep cleaning your apartment. Exercising at its best!
  • Footbag, oldie but goldie! If you did not learn how to do it back then, maybe this is your skill to learn during the quarantine time.
  • After exercising, it’s a perfect time for a self-care moment. Light a candle, stretch, exfoliate, do a face/hair mask, paint your nails, find a live music show/concert from the internet, relax and listen to ASMR. Or just chill and watch Netflix in your pajamas while eating chips and candy and drinking coffee. You’ve deserved it!

Crafts & cooking

  • You can also use this self-quarantine time to learn cool card shuffling tricks like these or these! If playing cards aren’t your thing, you could also learn how to do origami or different kinds of knots. You could do decorations for spring, such as, a butterfly or a bunny basket. You could also learn how to make a wolf, a dragon, an elephant or a crane or even pot plants

  • If guys out there aren’t interested in crafts, now it’s a good time to finally learn how to tie a tie or learn fun new tricks like how to make a car sound with a can.

  • Or if you’re feeling productive, you could learn how to create hairdos or do different kinds of braids if you haven’t mastered these before. Braids are great for everyone, for short, long and medium length hair! Also men with long hair, now is your chance to perfect that man bun or master the braid!

  • Baking and cooking - the best things for your mind and soul! Find your new favourite recipes and sweet tips for baking from this site. You can also find menus and recipes for a whole dinner party or a cozy Sunday brunch. Enjoy!

  • Since some campus restaurants are closed and some restaurants are closing, you’ll have to cook at home more. But don’t worry! Sykettä offers some delicious healthy recipes for you to try or you could take an online cooking class with the famous Italian chef Massimo Bottura via his Instagram account. Or you could just order take away if you don’t feel like cooking.
