Traffic rules for cyclists and pedestrians

Joensuu is a relatively small city and the cycling paths reach all corners of the city, so cycling is an easy, convenient, healthy and inexpensive way to get around. And since it is a very popular means of transportation it is good to know the traffic rules, that way we all will have safe and swift journeys. And remember that it is always the safest and smartest choice to use a helmet when cycling. A lamp for your bicycle is also a must, as is stated in the traffic rules and the local police is quite strict when it comes to biking in the dark without a lamp and you might end up with a 40€ fine if caught without one.
