Exercise, ergonomics and brain food are themes of this fall’s Wellbeing Week of UEF and ISYY. Campuses will also have dog visitors.
The Wellbeing Week of the University of Eastern Finland (UEF) and the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY) will be held in Joensuu, Kuopio and Savonlinna on week 41, 9.–13.10.2017.
– Purpose of the week is to familiarize students and staff with local wellbeing operators and give advice on maintaining their own wellbeing, especially from the point of view of exercise, ergonomics and brain food, says the Head of Human Resources Development of UEF, Marketta Rantama.
In addition to the traditional Wellbeing Fair, there will be a Dog Meet in every campus where students and staff can pet and scratch dogs. The idea for the event came from the Dog Café arranged in the University of Jyväskylä in spring.
– The Dog Meet offers also those people a chance to spend time with dogs, who can’t have a pet due to a lack of time, money or space. Spending time with dogs can also reduce study and work stress efficiently, tells Heidi Turunen, the member of ISYY Board.
The Wellbeing Week’s programme also includes campus specific events, such as a relaxing room in Savonlinna and movie afternoon and health exercise themed lecture in Kuopio.
