The Independence Day festivities on 6.12.2017 in Kuopio will differ from previous years: To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Finland, ISYY will take part in the students’ Finland 100 act in stead of arranging its own traditional Independence Day Torch Parade this year.
The Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY) will not arrange its own traditional Independence Day Torch Parade on 6.12. this year in Kuopio. To celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Finland, ISYY will participate in the students’ Finland 100 act and take part in the Guards of honour that will be held in the Sankaripuisto and the parade arranged before that on 6.12.2017.
The parade will assemble in front of the Kuopio Community College (Kuopion kansalaisopisto, Puistokatu 20) and start at 8.10 towards the Sankaripuisto.
Because the parade will be arranged earlier than normally this year, ISYY will not serve participants glögi straightaway after the parade. Instead, we will celebrate the Independence Day evening a little bit fancier. Dress up your fancy clothes, come to Lukema and enjoy the Independence Day festivities, such as the official Independence Day Reception on a big screen with other students! Mullet wine and snacks are also available!
Welcome to celebrate the 100-year-old Finland at Lukema on 6.12.2017!
