Wellbeing Week will be held for the twelfth time at the University of Eastern Finland from 29 September to 3 October 2025. The aim of the Wellbeing Week is to offer UEF students and staff a wellbeing promoting program throughout the week.

What Wellbeing Week?

During Wellbeing Week, a variety of activities will be organised to provide tools to increase one's own wellbeing. See the schedule of the theme week's program below. In addition to both campuses, there is also some program which will be held online. Please note that some of the week's activities require pre-registration and have an entrance fee and those are always stated in the information of the event in question.

Wellbeing Week 2025 schedule

Monday 29.9.

Online, for students and staff: Exercise Break from 9.55 am to 10.05 am

SYKETTÄ Joensuu's Sports Counsellor Anni Kakkinen is leading an exercise break for UEF students and staff via Teams. Join the session to refresh your mind and body between lectures!

Both campuses, for students and staff: Finnish Kennel Club’s Care Dogs and free coffee from 11am to 1pm

Finnish Kennel Club’s Care Dogs will be on the campuses in Joensuu at the Alkukivet statue and in Kuopio in front of Lukema/Studentia from 11am to 1pm. Doctor Ari Kinnunen and clinical veterinary technician Pia Nikkari have found that dogs have a natural ability to make people feel good, because the presence and petting of a dog lowers blood pressure and slows the heart rate. In addition, a dog may have a calming and concentration-supporting effect, and according to Yle's article, pets reduce stress and help people to relax. So come and take a break that supports your wellbeing by petting dogs and drinking coffee!
