13.59% of the eligible voters gave their votes during the advance voting for the ISYY’s Representative Council elections. Advance voting activity decreased by 5.61 percent compared to the elections of 2023.
Advance voting turnout of the ninth Representative Council Elections of the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland is 13.59%, so 2054 eligible voters gave their votes in advance. Compared to the previous elections, held in 2023, the advance voting turnout decreased. Last time the voter turnout was 19.2% (2771 persons). Advance voting was held electronically from 27 to 31 October, and this year the period for advance voting was slightly shorter than in the last elections.
The actual voting day of the Representative Council Elections is 6 November 2025 and the voting takes place from 8 am to 4 pm. Voters can vote electronically e.g. on their own mobile devices, anywhere they want to, via ISYY’s Electronic Voting System. In these Elections, the highest decision-making body of the Student Union will be elected, a 39-member Representative Council. The Representative Council works similarly to the Finnish Parliament, but just at the University and it represents University Students.
There are altogether 136 Candidates from 11 different lists of Candidates in the ISYY’s Representative Council Elections this year. The Representative Council Elections are held completely electronically. All members of the Student Union, who have registered as present at the University of Eastern Finland before 20 of October 2025, are eligible voters.
ISYY will announce the Representative Council Elections’ results on 6 November after the votes have been counted.
