DeeKu

DeeKu is a joint representative group of Dentina (the student association for dentistry) and KuoLO (the student association for medicine). We advocate for the interests of all students, and you’re welcome to reach out to us even if you’re not a member of these associations. Our main goal is to make the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY) more visible and accessible to all students.

ISYY's Social Democratic Students

ISYY's Social Democratic Students is a candidate list with social-democratic values, who advances social justice, equality and community in the Student Union. We are always advocating for students and support them against the cuts to the education and we want to make the Student Union a community in which everyone can be themselves.

Or main goals:

• Students' wellbeing and livelyhood: Sufficient mental health services, a reasonably priced and diverse student food and sufficient production of student housing
• A safe and equal university: Counteraction against bullying and discrimination in concrete actions, for example with themed days and increasing the visibility of support information
• Better intergration to the student community for international students
• Better public transportation to the University and lobbying a student-priced annual card, and equitable environmental actions

Eastern Finland's Green Left

The Eastern Finland's Green Left, or IViVa, promotes ecofeminism, equality, and anti-capitalism. We operate in both campuses at Joensuu and Kuopio. We aim to expand university democracy, creating more opportunities for a wider group of students to influence decisions that affect our everyday lives and studies. We consistently stand for student equality, a sustainable future, and a fair economy.

Judistit

Judistit is a politically independent group formed by law students at the University of Eastern Finland. Its goal is to ensure the promotion of justice within the activities of the Student Union. It is important to safeguard the rule of law in decision-making and compliance with regulations, and we strive to offer our expertise in support of that.

Keskeiset is a moderate centrist list between the extremes. We value open discussion and various opinions are welcome in our group. Our central theme is that ISYY should focus on essentials: things that affect students' everyday life.

Kylterit

Kylterit is the Representative Counsil group for all Business Students in Joensuu and Kuopio. The group operates as a non-partisan group in both campuses and our main objective is responsible financial management of the Student Union.

In all decision-making, we emphasize the importance of basing decisions in established facts, evaluating their total effectiveness and ensuring that they support the core functions of the Student Union. Our other objectives are to build an inclusive Student Union that is dedicated to advancing the position of its students within the University and in society, while also contributing financial expertise to the Union’s operations to ensure diverse culture of discussion.

The Green list

The Green list is an interdisciplinary and green-minded group that works towards a more sustainable student life. Does the representative council make sustainable purchases and does everyone feel safe being themselves? These are some of the questions we want to influence — together.
