Eager to connect with fellow students but can’t go to campus? Want to chat away and get to know new people, but don’t know how to do so at home? The Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland, ISYY, along with its ESN sections, ESN Joensuu and ESN KISA, have come together to give an answer for your remote socialising needs: the International Discord server!
The ISYY Discord server is meant for any ISYY or ESN Joensuu/KISA member (students at UEF) to be a place for relaxed, open-for-all socialising. Whether you want to get to know your fellow students from your own field, organise study dates, or just chat away, this Discord server is the place to find like-minded people for just that.
Please note that this server is not meant for any official questions related to UEF, immigration services, etc., but for socialising purposes only.
You can get started by simply clicking the link below! No registration is required, but it’ll make things easier in the long run. The channels under the category “International” are open right now, so go you can already get started! Note that the language used in the “International” category is English, other categories of the server are in Finnish.
But there’s more! Every Wednesday ISYY and ESN Joensuu & ESN KISA will host an International Coffee Break on the Discord server! Take a break from your studies, grab a cuppa and join us live to get to know new people from both campuses. Due to students being in different timezones, these coffee breaks will be held at different times each week, either at 10 AM, 4 PM or 8 PM (Finnish time, GMT+3).
The first International Coffee Break will be held on September 16th at 10:00 AM (GMT+3)! All are welcome!
