UEF: Student, attend the public hearings of UEF rector candidates on campus

Did you know that University of Eastern Finland will elect new rectors this year?

The University of Eastern Finland will reform its rector model by appointing a rector and two vice rectors for the term of office from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2029. The current terms of office of the Rector and the Academic Rector will end 31 December 2024. The decision on the new Rector will be made at a Board meeting to be held on 22 March 2024. There are of course Student Representatives named by ISYY in the UEF Board!

UEF Board selected the top candidates in their meeting on 13 February. The top candidates are the Academic Rector of the University of Eastern Finland, Professor of Environmental Law, LLD Tapio Määttä; the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Professor of Clinical Nutrition, MD Jussi Pihlajamäki; and the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Business Studies, Professor of Social Work, D.Soc.Sc., Lic.Sc. Sari Rissanen. 

The university organises two public hearings of the top candidates applying for the Rector of UEF and they are hoping a lot of students on place!

• Joensuu, Carelia (C1), Mon 26.2. at 12-14
• Kuopio, Snellmania (SN100), Tue 27.2. at 10-12

The hearings are held in Finnish and English.
