SYL Board for the year 2017 elected

The General Assembly of the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL), representing all of Finland’s university students, has elected SYL’s 2017 Board.

SYL’s President for 2017 is Riina Lumme, 24, the Student Union of the University of Turku (TYY). Other board members are:

Tarik Ahsanullah (Student Union of the University of Helsinki, HYY)
Veera Alahuhta (Student Union of the University of Oulu, OYY)
Maria Loima (Student Union of the University of Helsinki, HYY)
Jyri Lähdemaa (Student Union of the University of Turku, TYY)
Jimmy Nylund (Aalto University Student Union, AYY)
Jani Sillanpää (Student Union of Tampere University of Technology, TTYY)

The meeting also decided on next year’s plan of work as well as SYL’s new policy paper.

In its statement, SYL’s General Assembly underlined that decision makers must start evaluating the generational consequences of their political decisions.

The General Assembly of the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL) was held in Korpilampi, Espoo on Friday and Saturday 18–19 November.
