Are you starting your studies at Joensuu or Kuopio campus of the University of Eastern Finland soon but still have no apartment? Student housing companies Kuopas and Joensuu Elli are trying to arrange a flat for every starting student, but please note that there are many applicants and the housing of hundreds of students will take its own time.
However, if the situation is looking desperate, you can ask if your tutor or someone else you know would be able to accommodate you for a short while. If this is not possible, you can ask about the possibility for a short-term emergency accommodation. You can ask about the emergency accommodation in Joensuu at: housing@uef.fi and in Kuopio from ISYY’s Specialist in Academic and Social Affairs, Mikko Aaltonen: koso@isyy.fi.
NB! Emergency accommodation is intended solely for campus studens who are seeking apartment and only as a short-term emergency solution!
