Universities’ collective agreement negotiations are still unfinished

Universities’ collective agreement negotiations are still unfinished. At the moment, JHL, the Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors; Pardia, the Federation of Salaried Employees; and JUKO, have stated that they will take measures to put pressure on the negotiators to speed up the negotiations. A strike notice has also been given for the University of Eastern Finland, for Wednesday the 14th of March.

Current information on collective agreement negotiations and possible stoppages can be found on the following website (in Finnish):

“As these industrial actions prolong, it would be important to aim for concord and thus receive industrial peace. It is important that the staff members have appropriate working conditions, so that we can keep on doing nationally significant research and developing education,” states Juuso Sikiö, the Chairperson of ISYY’s Executive Board.
