What ISYY?: ISYY in a nutshell

What is the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY), what does it do and what kind of services and activities do we offer to our members, in other words, you?

We want you to get to know us better and therefore we are going to introduce the Student Union monthly in our communication channels during 2018. We will show you what we do and what kind of services we offer, such as interest advocating, Contact Persons in Affairs of Harassment, rentable premises and club activities, as well as the people, who are working and operating in ISYY. So follow ISYY’s website, Facebook and Instagram accounts and read our newsletters Wiikko-Ärsyke and Weekly Feed, and our student magazine Uljas.

During February, you will learn more about the people operating and working in ISYY, such as ISYY’s Representative Council, Executive Board and staff.

You can also receive information about our activities and services at ISYY’s feedback desks (info points), which will be held monthly at our campuses during spring and autumn. We will inform of the feedback desks’ dates and themes on ISYY’s website and newsletters.

ISYY in a nutshell

The Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland is an organisation that looks after the rights and interests of the students studying in the University of Eastern Finland. The Student Union operates at the campuses of Joensuu and Kuopio. In addition to interest advocacy of our members, we organise recreational activities, such as events, as well as sport services via the SYKETTÄ sports services.

We also offer our members a student community, the actions of which you are warmly welcomed to join, for example the Sections and clubs.

As a Student Union member you can also use the health care services of FSHS, travel and food discounts and many other benefits with your student card.

All students doing their Master’s or Bachelor’s degree studies at UEF are our members. At the moment, we have approximately 13.300 members. Membership of the Student Union is stated in law.
