Call for Applicants: Student Representatives to the FSHS Delegation and the Equality Committee of the University of Eastern Finland

Call for applications for the FSHS delegation

The activities of the Student Health Care Foundation will be renewed on 1 January 2021 when students of Universities of Applied Sciences are accepted into the services of the foundation. The Foundation has a 30 - member delegation, to which the student unions may nominate seven members and seven alternates. The nominations of student unions between members and deputies are rotating in accordance with the bylaws approved by SYL's 2018 General Assembly.

The FSHS delegation meets regularly twice a year or whenever the chair of the delegation, the board of the foundation or members of the delegation so request. The delegation's spring meeting will discuss last year's financial statements, the report of the Board of Directors and decide on the measures to be taken by them. The autumn meeting of the delegation will discuss the Foundation's action plan and budget for the coming year, elect the chairman and vice-chairman of the delegation and appoint any members of the Foundation's Board. The delegation will meet in Helsinki. A member of the delegation will be reimbursed for travel expenses incurred by the meeting according to public transport.

The Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland is applying for two candidates to be members of the FSHS delegation for the term 2021–2022.

The member of the delegation is expected to take a quick approach, to develop a vision for the development of student health care and to be ready to participate in the delegation's meetings.

Call for applications to the Equality Council of the University of Eastern Finland

The University Equality Committee supervises and directs the obligation of education and the employer to promote equality in its activities as required by the Equality Act (1325/2014). The Equality Committee prepares an equality and non-discrimination program for the University of Eastern Finland and monitors its progress and implementation. The Equality Committee also makes presentations and initiatives to the university's management and staff on how to promote equality in UEF's operations.

The Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland applies for two (2) student representatives and two (2) deputy representatives to the Equality Committee of the University of Eastern Finland for the term 2021 - 2022. An eligible member of the Equality Committee is a person who has the right to complete a bachelor's or master's degree or a licentiate or doctoral postgraduate degree at the University of Eastern Finland. Experience in equality work and an interest in equality and equality work are considered an advantage for the applicant.

Reasoned applications to both the FSHS delegation and the Equality Commission must be submitted using the online form by Monday, 7 December 2020 at 12.00.

The final decision on the person to be nominated to the FSHS delegation is made by the Board of the Association of Finnish Student Unions and, in the case of persons elected to the Equality Committee, by the Board of the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland.
