The Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland Has Decided to Leave the Finnish Student Sports Federation (OLL)

The Representative Council of the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY) has decided in its meeting on 13.10.2021 to leave the Finnish Student Sports Federation (OLL).

The Representative Council discussed about the OLL membership when the Student Union Action Plan for the year 2021 was approved in 2020. The Action Plan included a statement that ISYY will examine the OLL membership’s benefits and leave the federation if it is concluded that the membership does not bring ISYY sufficient benefits.

“We see the student wellbeing as a very important matter in which we want to invest in our campus cities. We have decided to use the same amount of money for acquiring sports equipment and organising sports and recreational events in our campuses as we have previously used for the OLL membership. These days it is extremely important to increase students’ wellbeing and communality,” says Ella Partanen, the Chairperson of the Representative Council for the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland.

ISYY wants to thank the Finnish Student Sports Federation (OLL) for cooperation.
