An appeal for ISYY s members: Vote in the Representative Council elections!

The Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY) appeals to every member of ISYY to vote in the Representative Council Elections. You can vote anywhere electronically; for example with your computer, smartphone or your tablet.

By voting in the Representative Council Elections, you can best influence the most important matters of your student life and take part in the decision-making. The Representative Council represents its members, aka you, the student. You can vote for the person you think would be the best to decide how the membership fee that you pay every year is being used and how much even is the membership fee. Don’t miss this chance; give your vote to whom you would like to represent you.

Voting takes no longer than a minute

• All members of the Student Union, who have registered as attending students at the University of Eastern Finland before Monday 20 October, are eligible to vote.
• You can vote in ISYY’s electronic voting system located at: isyy-vaalit.uef.fi.
• Each person can vote only once.
• You can find the candidates on ISYY’s website under “Candidate lists” and also from the electronic voting system’s candidate gallery. From ISYY’s website under “Voting aid” you can also find the link to ISYY’s 2025 Voting aid which will help you decide on a candidate if you have not already done so.
• You can vote during the advance voting days or on the actual voting day:
  • Advance voting starts on Monday 27 October at 9 am and ends on Friday 31 October at 2 pm. 
  • The actual voting day is Thursday 6 November and you can vote between 8 am and 4pm.

By voting you will affect Your life as a university student

39 persons will be chosen to represent ~15 000 ISYY members. The representatives make significant decisions concerning all students, for example, what kinds of services ISYY offers, how much your ISYY membership fee will be and to what it is used for.

Put simply, the Student Union could be seen as a nation where students are its citizens. The citizens, aka students, elect the Parliament aka Representative Council, who then elects the Committees and the Government aka Executive Board. Even one vote can make a difference and you are the one who decides who it goes to!

Don’t leave your right to vote unused because you decide who decides! After voting you can get this year's "Vote" overall patch from ISYY office in Kuopio or Joensuu during opening hours!
