ISYY Representative Council 1/2026 meeting's decisions
The Representative Council of the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY) held its first meeting of 2026 on Sunday 1 March as part of the Council’s training weekend.
In the meeting, the Representative Council
- decided that the ISYY Council’s Chairperson is paid 1,000 EUR per year and both Vice-Chairpersons are paid 500 EUR per year for performing their duties.
- decided that the Chairperson of the Rules Committee and the Chairperson of the Finance Committee are paid 500 EUR per year for performing their duties.
- appointed members of the Rules Committee for the term 2026-2027. The Council elected Luukas Hyytiäinen (Judistit) as the Chairperson of the committee and Mikko Miettinen (Keskeiset) as the Vice-Chairperson. Additionally, the Council elected Henri Rinta-Koivula (Vihreä lista), Silja Järvinen (Itä-Suomen Vihreä Vasemmisto), Eva Westerling (Judistit), Julia Tenhunen (Kylterit), Olga-Susanna Koivunen (Terveystieteilijät) and Aapeli Pehkonen (ISYYn Demariopiskelijat) as members of the Rules Committee and Aliisa Tammi (Judistit), Aaro Koivuranta (Judistit) and Michael Junior Aguiyi (Terveystieteilijät) as deputy members.
- appointed members of the Finance Committee for the term 2026-2027. The Council elected Johannes Roimaa (Kylterit) as the Chairperson of the committee. Additionally, the Council elected Inkeri Koivujärvi (Vihreä Lista), Reetta-Maria Vauhkonen (Kylterit), Senja Tallbacka (DeeKu), Luukas Hyytiäinen (Judistit) and Sara Koskinen (Terveystieteilijät) as members of the Finance Committee and Aliisa Tammi (Judistit), Ruska Itkonen (Itä-Suomen Vihreä Vasemmisto), Sonja Hämäläinen (Kylterit) and Oscar Shepherd (Kylterit) as deputy members.
- moved decision making of establishing an International Committee to the next Council meeting.
- approved ISYY’s updated financial regulations.
- elected Hannele Mirola as ISYY’s new Secretary General.
- appointed Aaro Koivuranta (Judistit) and Anni Kivistö (Itä-Suomen Vihreä Vasemmisto) as members of Executive Board’s working group that updates ISYY’s Equality Plan.
- accepted a proposed resolution made by Aino Kuosmanen (Terveystieteilijät) about purchasing a rowboat for ISYY and a proposed resolution made by Luukas Hyytiäinen (Judistit) about providing legal assistance to members of the Student Union.
