Hi new student! Your first academic year at the University of Eastern Finland (UEF) has started and now it is time to get to know what student life is all about. We at the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY) want to warmly welcome you to our student community and Student Union’s activities.
ISYY organises a ‘Fuksibingo’ aka Freshman Bingo to kick-start the academic year. Students who complete a bingo row and return the bingo sheet to the ISYY office will receive a ‘ISYY FUKSI’ overall patch. There is a limited amount of the ISYY FUKSI overall badges, so be quick! All of those who have completed the bingo can leave their contact information at the ISYY office for the Freshman Bingo Raffle. By entering the raffle you have a chance to win a gift card to a café. The Freshman Bingo helps new students to familiarise themselves with student life and to find new communities.
Only new students of UEF who have joined ISYY can participate in the Freshman Bingo during the autumn semester till Thursday 30 October 2025. The participants aim to complete the tasks listed on the bingo sheet and mark off each task as they finish it. After a student has completed at least one (1) bingo row, they can come to the ISYY office during opening hours to pick up their overall badge and to join the Freshman Bingo Raffle. A bingo row can be formed vertically, horizontally, or diagonally from corner to corner. At the office, the student must present their completed bingo sheet along with a valid student card (Frank or Slice) to the ISYY staff. The Freshman Bingo can be played until 3 pm on Thursday 30 October 2025. The overall patch must also be collected by this deadline.
The electronic bingo sheet can be downloaded below, or you can pick up a paper version from the ISYY offices. If you download the electronic bingo sheet, you can modify the picture and mark which tasks you have completed and show the completed bingo from your phone screen at the office.
Everyone who has completed at least one (1) bingo row, can leave their contact info at the ISYY office to enter the Freshman Bingo Raffle. Winners will receive gift cards in Joensuu to café Kauppaneuvoksen kahvila and in Kuopio to café Kaneli (10 gift cards/campus). You must submit your contact details by 3 pm on Thursday 30 October, after which the winners will be drawn by raffle. The winners will be contacted individually via email.
Contact information will be used solely for contacting the winners of the raffle. After the raffle, all contact information submitted for the raffle will be destroyed.
