Welcome to the Elovaara nature trails with the BRIDGES!
Departure is from the Carelia parking lot in front of the university (Yliopistokatu 1, 80100 Joensuu) on Saturday 15.4. at 10.30 am. It takes about 30 min to Elovaara, arriving at about 11 am. We will travel by a charter bus.
Elovaara has two trails of different lengths, a 1,5 km and 2,5 km trail. Both trails have rest areas with fireplaces and toilets. Firewood is available at the fireplaces. In Elovaara it is possible to walk independently or in a group. You can also join an ISYY's group, which aims to walk both trails during the day.
The return hike starts at 3 pm and we will be back on campus at around 3:30 pm. The trips back and forth are free of charge. You should bring a snack with you. The nearest shop is about half an hour's walk away. We recommend wearing appropriate weather gear and be prepared for slippery conditions.
The day trip is open to all UEF students and can accommodate up to 30 students. Registration is open on the Kide.app from 24th of March to 7th of April or as long as there are places available. The link is below.
Please note that registration is binding, which means that you will have to pay a deposit of 10 € + 0.5 € service fee in advance. The deposit is refundable after participation in the event, but the Kide.app service fee is non-refundable. After the registration deadline, the deposit is non-refundable for cancellations unless you pass on your ticket. If you do so, please contact the organiser Riina Pääkkönen immediately, contact details can be found below. You can pay the deposit also at ISYY's office, please message first Riina.
