ESN Joensuu plays floorball!

ESN Joensuu and the Joensuu Campus Sports Club welcome all UEF students to a casual introduction to Floorball. Floorball is an indoor sport played with a stick and a ball. Floorball is one of the most popular indoor games in Nordic Countries and Finland is the reigning World Champion in the sport. Currently floorball is played in 66 countries globally. The event is held at the Joensuu Areena (Mehtimäenaukio 2, 80110 Joensuu) at 14.45-16 on the Parketti Field. You can find locker rooms in the Joensuu Areena if you need a place to change or take a shower after the event. Indoor sports shoes are required for this event (they cost 15€-30€ in Prisma). The event is completely free for all members of ESN and the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY). The price for participating is 3€ for non-members. Payment on the event, please bring exact change.

The only thing you need to do is to sign up using this form: https://forms.gle/PoTYNpvXfpW3Ds5QA . The sign-up will close on the 8th of March (8.3.2020) at midnight or when the maximum participant number (20) is reached.

The event starts at 14:45 sharp. We will first gather up the participants next to the field and warm up a little. Then, we will spend around 30 minutes practicing the basic techniques (passing, shooting and dribbling) and the rules of Floorball. After we have covered these, we’ll play a casual match together. Keep in mind that there will be prizes for all the participants of the event. The idea of the event is to have fun and play casually, so no previous knowledge or experience in any sport is needed.
