North Karelia Pride parade and park picnic 23.5.

ISYY will once again take part in the Pride parade and, together with Pohjois-Karjala Seta ry, will organise a park picnic on Saturday 23 May in Joensuu! 

Equality and transparency are important values for ISYY. ISYY encourages all its members to take part in the Pride parade’s ISYY block and the park picnic, as well as to wear student overalls to form a rainbow. You can recognise the ISYY block by searching for the ISYY flag.

The parade starts at 1 pm at the Suvantosilta from the town center side of the river. The front of the parade will gather under the bridge, and the rear behind the City Theater. The parade ends around 2pm at the park picnic in Ilosaari. In the picnic-area you can find a family café, sales stands, ISYY’s glitter make-up station and of course great company! At the ISYY Glitter make-up station you can decorate yourself with glitter for the evening's Pride party.

The first 150 students at the ISYY’s station will be given ISYY's Pride-Hemmo overall patch as a memory.

The event follows Pohjois-Karjala Seta’s safer space guidelines. Harassment contact persons from Pohjois-Karjala Seta will be present throughout the event, and you can approach them if you experience or notice any harassment.

Timetable

• 1 pm The parade starts from Suvantosilta
• 2 pm - 4 pm The park picnicat Ilosaari, the programme includes, among other things:
  • ISYY’s Glitter make-up station
  • Family café
  • Together-zone
  • sales stands

Pohjois-Karjalan Seta arranges an official afterparty at Kerubi starting at 9pm. Tickets to the afterparty can be purchased from Kide.app.

So make your sign, put on your overalls and come and enjoy yourself with other students in Pride!
