Students are needed for the UEF audit workspaces!

ISYY is searching for student representatives for the UEF audit, that takes place on 9.-10.11.2022. Audit is an external quality control, where the university's operation is evaluated based on whether it meets the criteria for high-quality operation.

The auditing process involves student auditing workshops, in which students discuss their own experiences with each other, e.g. about studying, teaching, support services or the study environment at UEF based on the assignment given by the audit team.

Participating in the audit workshops offers an excellent opportunity to directly influence the University of Eastern Finland's operations, quality work and student support service, because for the next six years, UEF's operations will be developed based on the audit group's findings and action proposals.

Read more and apply by 17th October 12pm.

What is my Student Association?

Student Associations are independent, subject-specific associations. Student Associations gather together students who study the same subject, which allows for them to get to know their peers and work together in the field of student advocacy. It's a great way to meet new people and attend a variety of activities and events with people studying the same subject as you!

Each Student Association has their own overalls colour, they are listed in ISYY's student calendars! You can watch this Youtube video to learn more about the Finnish higher education overall tradition.

Remember to attach lights to your bicycle!

As the evenings are getting darker quicker, remember to wear reflectors and start using lights on your bicycle. When riding at dusk or in the dark, the Finnish law requires that a bicycle has a white or light yellow headlight and a red rear light. If you don't have these, you can be fined by the police. You can increase your visibility in the dark by wearing a reflector tag or a reflector vest.
