Loan winter sports equipment from ISYY office!

As an ISYY member you are entitled to loan sports equipment from our offices for free for one week at a time. Especially right now it is a great time to use this possibility, as we have a lot of equipment for winter time.

In ISYY’s member survey, we asked you, what equipment we should add to our listing and at least snowshoes and touring skates popped out from the answers. Good news: you can now loan both from our offices (touring skates only in Kuopio)! During the last autumn we’ve also added e.g. padel rackets to both campus offices.

Winter sports equipment in Kuopio:

  • Plastic sleds (pulkka)
  • Snow gliders (liukuri)
  • UFO snow gliders
  • Snow shoes
  • Ice skates
  • Touring skates

Check the whole listing from our websites and visit our office to loan the equipment.

Thank you for aswering the ISYY member survey!

The Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY) organised a survey for its members on 8.11.-4.12.2022. The member survey’s purpose was to collect information about how familiar our members are with the Student Union and its services, to collect feedback about our services and also ideas how to improve our services, activities and communication.

We got 192 answers in total. Thank you to everyone who answered the survey!

With the survey we got a lot of useful information to further our actions and the answers will be gone through collectively with the ISYY Staff and Executive Board in the beginning of 2023. With this information it is good to begin the new year.

Some observations from the answers:

  • It is clear that for students it is important that we offer versatile events and communities that connect students across the study fields and also across campuses to bring balance to everyday studying.
  • Dissatisfaction towards the mental health services and students livelihood is highlighted in the answers.
  • The newsletter sticks to its place as the most popular communication channel of ISYY.
  • More information about ISYY's services and actions, but also about mental health and wellbeing are wished to our communication channels.
