The Representative Council for the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY) elected new chairpersons and ISYY’s Executive Board for the year 2016 in its meeting on Friday 4.12.2015.
Olli Siirola from Kuopio campus was elected as the Chairperson of the Council of Representatives. He has been the Chairperson of the Dentina subject organisation. Jarno Mäki from Savonlinna campus was elected as the 1st Vice-chair and Tahvo Kekkonen from Kuopio campus as the 2nd Vice-chair.
Juho Ikonen from Joensuu campus was elected as the new Chairperson of ISYY’s Executive Board. Ikonen has been an active member in ISYY since 2011. Other Executive Board members for the year 2016: 1 v-c Juho-Pekka Maunula (The Independents), 2. v-c. Elina Kilponen (Fortis), Laura Carman (Social Democratic Students), Teemu Huikuri (Green list), Isaac Adaam (International Students), Maarit Hotanen (The Independents), Janne Kylämäki (Green List) ja Matti Nivala (Keskeiset).
“Next year will be full of challenges, but I believe, that with this team we can overcome all obstacles. I want to develop ISYY towards a more international, more unified and more influential”, states the future chairman of the executive board Juho Ikonen.
The term of the Executive Board starts on 1.1.2016 and will last a calendar year. The new Executive Board has its organising meeting before the end of the year.
