Project grants for the autumn term 2016

The Executive Board of the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland, at its meeting on 7 April 2016, has decided to open the call for project grant applications for autumn 2016.

Project grants are intended to support communities of all sizes in addition to their own funding and possible external funding. Project grants are awarded on the basis of the evaluation of the project plan to communities or Student Union clubs who have legal capacity. These grants may be awarded to a community only if half of its members are members of the Student Union (ISYY).

Project grants are awarded twice a year: each autumn and spring. You can apply for a project grant for various purposes such as your organisation’s publications; hiring facilities; organising an event; or increasing your printing quota. In 2016, our primary focus will be on projects that stand up to discrimination and bullying, projects that promote internationalism and communality, and especially projects that aim to develop students’ working life skills. The Student Union (ISYY) is highly supportive of projects that increase interdisciplinary activities. In addition, the Student Union (ISYY) expects projects to reflect Fairness. The following order will be emphasised in prioritising the project grants: student organisations, clubs, other campus organisations.

Applications for 2016 projects must be submitted no later than 29 April at 12noon. Please fill out the project grant application form and visit the Student Union (ISYY) office to submit your application. The application is required to entail a project plan. Please note that applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

Organisations are obligated to compile a report of their project upon its conclusion and deliver the report to the party that awarded the grant. Failure to deliver the report and the contact information of your organisation will prevent your organisation from applying for or receiving Student Union (ISYY) project grants. Awarded project grants must be expended by 31 December 2016.

The Executive Board of the Student Union (ISYY) will decide on awarding project grants in May.
