The Campus Happening will start the academic year of UEF’s both campuses on Thursday 7 September 2023. UEF’s Opening Ceremony of the Academic Year 2023–2024 will be held on the same day in Joensuu. The Campus Happening will be organized for the tenth time.
The City Orienteering will begin from the Campus Happening. In the orienteering students will go around their campus city in groups and complete different kinds of tasks given to them. The Campus Happening evening will culminate in the City Orienteering after party.
All the new and continuing students and also UEF staff are warmly welcome to attend the Campus Happening! The event gathers our university community together to celebrate the new academic year with live music and fun activities.
Come and mingle with other new students, get to know some local sport teams and associations and to have a good time at the Campus Happening! You can also bring some picnic snacks for you. From the event area you can find for example outdoor games, photo wall, glitter makeup and free cotton candy. We encourage the orienteering teams to wear team costumes of your choice, remember to have your group picture taken!
The Campus Happening is organized by the University of Eastern Finland (UEF) and the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY).
