ISYY has updated the material instructions for newsletters

Weekly Feed is the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland’s (ISYY) English language newsletter that comes out once a week on Tuesdays (excluding holidays). Weekly Feed -newsletter is published on both Joensuu and Kuopio campuses and its content is somewhat different depending on the campus. Campus-specific Finnish-language versions of the letters are also published weekly.

Weekly Feed editorial teams both in Kuopio and in Joensuu are happy to promote events, activities and opportunities that might be of interest to international UEF students. We have now updated and clarified our instructions for the material to be provided for newsletters. Newsletters are the Student Union’s communication channels, and therefore we do not publish e.g. paid advertisements or political or religious content excluding activities organised by ISYY clubs, student associations and campus associations. We redirect you to send all job and internship advertisements to the JobTeaser service that is also used by the University of Eastern Finland.

Instructions for sending the material

Send the material by email one week before the newsletters are published (on the Tuesday of the previous week). ISYY reserves the right to decide which material it publishes.

General instructions for material

Indicate whether the material concerns the Joensuu campus, the Kuopio campus, or both.
Include a clear and separate title.
Keep material informative and short, max. 500 characters including spaces.
Include a possible link to a page, where more info about the topic is available.

Material restrictions to consider

We can not publish PDF- or other file-attachments.
We do not use emojis or other emoticons in the newsletters.
We generally include the material in the newsletter continuously for a maximum of two weeks.

Instructions for possible images

Preferably square or vertical rectangle, optimal size e.g. 300 x 300 px or 540 x 675 px.
File format JPG or JPEG.
Please note that the image will appear small in the newsletter, so it should not contain much text. Please make sure that you have the right to use the pictures that you are sending to ISYY. ISYY is not responsible if you do not.
ISYY reserves the right not to use the images.
