According to the Finnish University Law, The Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY), is responsible for electing the Student Representatives to the administrative bodies of UEF, which are UEF Board, UEF Collegiate Body and UEF Faculty Councils.
The positions were announced to be applied on 22 September 2025 and the deadline for applications was 13 October at 12.00 (noon). During the first application period we did not receive enough applications for the Collegiate Body or Faculty Council and that is why the ISYY Board decided at their meeting 28 October 2025 to extend the application period for these positions.
The Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY) is now accepting applications for student representative positions to the University Collegiate Body and Faculty Councils of the University of Eastern Finland.

In UEF administrative bodies Student Representatives promote students’ point of view in the decision making and also bring matters that are important for students into public debate. They also have a right to make proposals and motions in the bodies.
If your first language is not Finnish, UEF will organise interpretation services for you.
As a Student Representative in administration, you can gain valuable experience in administrative and advocacy work and managing matters of common concern. Representatives will receive a fee for participating in the University Collegiate Body’s and Faculty council meetings. Also, a student who has taken part in Collegiate Body actions, can receive 1 ECTS and in Faculty Council 2 ECTS by taking part in administration and teamworking.
All applications should be delivered using the electronic application form to the Student Union’s offices by 12 (noon) on Wednesday 12 November 2025. Late applications will not be considered. If you have any issues with filling the form, please contact Mikko Aaltonen.
