In ISYY's eight Representative Council elections, there are 113 candidates from 9 different candidate lists.

This year, a total of 113 candidates from 9 different candidate lists are nominated in the Representative Council elections of the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY). Compared to the previous Elections in 2021, the number of candidates has decreased by 15. In the 2021 elections, there were 128 candidates and 10 candidate lists.

ISYY's Representative Council elections will be held this autumn on both campuses in Joensuu and Kuopio. The advance voting for the Representative Council Elections takes place from 31 October to 7 November 2023 and the actual voting date is the 8 November 2023.

In the Representative Council Elections, a 39-member Student Union Representative Council, the highest decision-making body of the Student Union, is elected for a two-year term. The Representative Council decides, among other things, on the Student Union's budget, membership fee, action plan and rules.

All students who have registered as present at the University of Eastern Finland by 24 October 2023 and who are members of the Student Union are eligible to vote in the Representative Council elections. Voting is done electronically in Tuudo.

Each person eligible to vote may vote in the Representative Council Elections only once, and may not vote in the Elections by proxy.
