ISYY Participates in the Students' Mental Health Day Campaign

Students’ Mental Health Day will be held on Thursday 22nd of April, and the campaign will run on social media for two weeks from 12th to 23rd of April. This year, Nyyti ry’s campaign theme is communality and right for help. The aim of the theme is to highlight that everyone is worthy of help when they need it.

ISYY wants all its members to have enough information on where to get help whenever they need it. Among others, in Kuopio Hyvä Mieli ry and Kuopion Mielenterveyden Tuki ry and in Joensuu Siun Sote, Joensuun Seudun Mielenterveysseura ry, and Pohjois-Karjalan Mielenterveyden Tuki ry offer mental health services. Students can also utilize the services of FSHS. On a national level, for example Mielenterveystalo and Tukinet offer mental health services. You can find more services listed on Nyyti ry’s website (opens in new tab).

The wellbeing of students has become an important topic of discussion during emergency conditions and ISYY wants to improve the wellbeing of its members by sharing tips for that. Remember to give time for yourself and relax as a counterbalance to studying. Everyone relaxes in their own ways, but some good ways to relax are, for example, talking and spending time with your friends and family, cooking (or ordering take-out) and eating good food, watching a movie or a tv-show, going on walks or other feel-good exercise, getting enough sleep, and everything else that you enjoy doing!

ISYY helds interest advocacy and international coffee breaks for its members on the ISYY Discord-channel. The next interest advocacy coffee break is on Monday 10th of May at 15–17, and international coffee breaks are held every Thursday at 17. All ISYY members are welcome to join!
