Student Vappu in Kuopio 2026

The highlight of the whole academic year, Vappu (May Day), will bring life to Kuopio by introducing a variety of events organised by ISYY and student associations.

Traditionally, the students’ Vappu celebrations begin as early as in the middle of April and will culminate in the Rite of the Scholastic Passage and Pool Event organised by ISYY.

Below, you can find a list of all the Vappu activities and events on Kuopio campus. The list will be updated as events are published and they are informed to ISYY.

Monday 13.4. 

• The interdisciplinary KässäKino (CraftCinema) starting at 5.30pm (organiser: Retikka ry & KuoLO ry)

Tuesday 21.4. 

• Cross-disciplinary The Smurfs - Friend Sitsfest from 6pm to 10pm (organiser: Retikka ry & TERHO ry)

Wednesday 22.4. 

• Vappusitsit starting at 5pm (organiser: Preemio ry)

• Cross-disciplinary schlagersitz from 6pm to 22pm (organiser: Kulti ry & Mutka ry)
• Beermölkkytournament (organiser: Preemio ry and EcoNova ry)

Thursday 30.4. 

• Retikka x TERHO Vappu from 12pm to 4pm (organiser: Retikka ry & TERHO ry)

• Washing of the Tooth at Studentia Courtyard starting at 1 pm (organiser: Dentina ry)
• The Rite of the Scholastic Passage starting at 2 pm (organiser: Wihkimys Ylimystö of the Student Union)
• ISYY's Pool Event at the Kuopio Market Place starting at 5.30 pm
