The Equal Opportunities Committee monitors the implementation of the Non-Discrimination Act (1325/2014) and the Act on Equality between Women and Men (609/1986) in the University of Eastern Finland. The Equal Opportunities Committee consists of the representatives of the employer, employees and the Student Union. The Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland is seeking one deputy member for 2019. The Student Union wishes that the applicants would be committed to continue to work in the Committee also in 2010.
Persons who have a right to complete undergraduate or post-graduate degrees in the University of Eastern Finland are entitled to apply to the Equal Opportunities Committee. Persons working for the university (50 % contracts) cannot represent the Student Union in the Committee.
Applicants are expected to have good social skills, desire to promote the student perspective and motivation. Interest and experience in equality issues are considered as advantages.
