ISYY's and UEF’s Wellbeing Week 4.–8.10.2021

The Wellbeing Week of the Student Union ISYY and University of Eastern Finland takes place at the campuses on week 40, 4.-8.10.2021. During the Wellbeing week, there is a diverse program and lectures related to well-being and its maintenance. There will be English language Kaamosinfo and a traditional Sports Afternoon. It is also possible to get to know local wellbeing actors at poster exhibitions on both campuses. Super popular Buddy dogs are also arriving to campuses for the student’s belly rubs.

Monday 4.10.

  • 9-10 Opening of the Wellbeing Week (In Finnish)
    Panel discussion on “Safely back on campus & Introduction to UEF’s diversity work and implementation of UEF’s equality plan”. Tuomo Meriläinen, Administrative Director, Ulla Hurskainen, Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Welfare, Katri Hartikainen, Occupational Safety and Health Manager, and Pauliina Ryökäs, Member of the Board of ISYY, will be present at the discussion.

  • 12-14 The Finnish Kennel Club's Care Dogs and coffee serving on campuses, in Joensuu at Alkukivet and in Kuopio at the shore near Lukema

Tuesday 5.10.

  • 09 -> Faculties' own study ability shares for their students
     
  • 12-15 UEF’s orientation Wellbeing workshops for freshmen (In Finnish)

Wednesday 6.10.

  • 9-10 Student’s lecture for students about Self-Compassion & Recovery and Coping Tools in Everyday Life. (In Finnish)

  • 9-10 Ronnie Grandells lecture for staff about self-compassion (In Finnish)
     
  • 12-15 Sports Afternoon
    The purpose of the Sports Afternoon is to give our students and staff an opportunity to try new sports for a very affordable price (or for free) and to get everyone moving at least for one afternoon per semester. There will be no teaching after 12:15 pm so everyone is able to take part – and we recommend you do!

Thursday 7.10.

  • 12-13 An Opportunity to get acquainted with one student support NGO and two actors enhancing the employment opportunities of international students and jobseekers. Join us online and hear what  Nyyti ry, Talent Hub and Kuopio Employment Service/ Navigator and ONE project have to offer for the international student of UEF.

  • Wellbeing week poster exhibition in the lobbies of the Carelia and Snellmania buildings 4.-8.10. An Opportunity to get acquainted with local wellbeing actors.
  • ISYY’s Smile & Complaints week 4.-10.10.
  • Participate and follow the weeks activities on social media by hashtag #wellbeingweek2021

The Wellbeing Week is organized as part of the Bridges project of the UEF and ISYY. The two-year Bridges project includes actions to strengthen students ’attachment to the university community, promote student well-being, and prevent loneliness and exclusion. The project has been funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
