Apply for ECTS credits from the positions of trust 2025

The Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY) has opened the application period for ECTS credits for the positions of trust 2025. According to the accepted education plan of UEF, a student can be given ECTS credits for participating in student association or ISYY club work, for acting in the administrative body or working groups of the Student Union, University or in another body of a cooperating organisation or for participating in international association or ISYY club work.

A student can be given no more than 5 ECTS credits for participating in student association or ISYY club work and no more than 10 ECTS credits for acting in an administrative body or a working group. However, a student can get a maximum of 10 ECTS credits (including the international association or club work) altogether from association or club work and administrative bodies or working groups.

ECTS credits for working in UEF Student Association or an ISYY Club

A student can be given from 1 to 2 ECTS credits for being on the student association’s board or on the ISYY club’s board. Additionally, a student can get from 1 to 4 ECTS credits from their association or club work either by executing a large project (e.g. annual celebration) or for being highly meritorious in association activities. The ECTS’s are normally given in a way that 1 year in association or club’s board equals 1 study point, excluding the chairperson, who can be given 2 study points. The additional ECTS’ must be argued in the learning diary.

ECTS credit from ISYY, UEF, or other cooperative organisations administrative work

A student can be given from 1 to 3 ECTS credits from attending the administrative body or working group in ISYY, UEF, or in other cooperative organisations. The amount of points depends on the duration and responsibility of the position. More information can be found from Peppi.

ECTS credit for international activity in student association or ISYY club

A student can be given 1 ECTS credit for acting at least one year as a board member in a student association with the responsibility of international affairs or being in a board of an international ISYY club. These ECTS’s can be included in the Studies in Internationalization.

How to apply for the ECTS credits

The ECTS credits are applied mainly for last year's positions. Please make sure that you have registered in the right eLearn course. The qualifications for getting the ECTS’ are:

  1. you have done immaculate work in your position
  2. you have attended the ISYY association training or you have done the substitute assignments and
  3. you have done the assignments from eLearn.

The assignments must be submitted via the eLearn course (or via email if the required course is not available in English) by Sunday 1 March 2026 by 23:59. The applications submitted later than that are not processed.

Participation in student organisation and student club’s international activities

The ECTS credits from the international work in student association or international ISYY club are applied by registering to the UEF eLearn Moodle course 1131017 Participation in student association’s and student club's international activities. This eLearn course is in English.

Participation in association and club work

The ECTS credits are applied by registering in UEF eLearn course 1131008 Osallistuminen ainejärjestö- ja kerhotyöskentelyyn. At the moment the course is only in Finnish. Please contact Mikko Aaltonen (Kuopio) if you want to apply for these study points and want information in English. In the email, write out the positions from which you want to get the study points, so you will get the right assignments.

Participation in administrative bodies and working groups

The ECTS credits are applied by registering in UEF eLearn course 1131006 Osallistuminen hallinto- ja työryhmätyöskentelyyn.  At the moment the course is only in Finnish. Please contact Mikko Aaltonen if you want to apply for these study points and want information in English. In the email, write out the positions from which you want to get the ECTS credits, so you will get the right assignments.
