Registration to the City Orienteering begins soon!

Next week we will kick-off the new academic year of UEF on both campuses with the Campus Happening on Thursday 7 September from 15.30 onwards. The registration to the City Orienteering is just around the corner!

What do I need to know about the registration?

The registration for new students begins on 1 September at 12 pm in Kide.app. A tutor (or a student from the freshman group if the tutor doesn’t participate in the Orienteering) will register the group of new students to the event.

The registration for continuing students begins in Kide.app on Monday 4 September at 12 pm. There are a limited amount of group tickets, so be fast! A group ticket for continuing students costs 30€. The price includes the map, the orienteering pass and overall badges and after party tickets for 6 people.

How do we get the materials? This year we are giving out the materials already during the Campus Happening week. A registered group can collect their materials from ISYY office from Monday 4 September onwards.

What Campus Happening and City Orienteering?

The Campus Happening begins right after the Opening Ceremony and it gathers new and continuing students and also UEF Staff together to the campus area. The Campus Happening will act also as a kick-off event for the City Orienteering that begins right after the Campus Happening ends.

City Orienteering is organised especially for the new students. Teams will go around the campus city and complete fun tasks at the orienteering points. The students will get to know each other as well as the campus city. You will meet e.g. student associations and ISYY Clubs at the orienteering points!

Did you make enough credits for your financial aid last year?

Are you taking the financial aid for students? Did you make enough credits last year?  Kela monitors the academic progress of students in higher education on a yearly basis. Students who have not made enough progress with their studies will receive a request for further information at the beginning of October. Students who wish to reduce the number of months of financial aid taken into account when monitoring academic progress can pay back financial aid for the spring via OmaKela until 10 September 2023.

Now it is the time to check if all your credits from last academic year has registered. When monitoring the academic progress this autumn, Kela looks at the credits completed in the previous academic year (1 August 2022-31 July 2023) and, when needed, the credits completed over the whole period of study. The academic year is monitored as a whole, so the credits completed in any individual month are not monitored.
