HAPPY TUESDAY!

If you want to start learning a new language (Finnish, perhaps?), join a Language Café on ISYY's website by Friday. ISYY's international club JEIS has their General Meeting today at 5pm in Metria 103, join in for snacks and to hear more about the club!

It's almost February and the Sports Afternoon is just around the corner! There is a huge selection of things to do and the best part is that you do not need a SYKETTÄ membership in order to participate. JEIS overalls and sweatshirts

What are these colourful party pants that everyone wears in student parties? Overalls ("haalarit") is a huge tradition in Finland among higher education students. They represent you and your fellow students as a collective, especially since every study field has its own overall color and/or design. If you're in Finland only for one semester and don't have the time to get your own student associations' overalls, you can get blue ESN overalls, also known as the international students' overalls! The ESN overalls are sold at ISYY's office for 35e. JEIS also has blue ESN sweatshirts for sale at the ISYY office for 30e. Get yours before they run out!

What is my Student Association?

Student Associations are independent, subject-specific associations. Student Associations gather together students who study the same subject, which allows for them to get to know their peers and work together in the field of student advocacy. It's a great way to meet new people and attend a variety of activities and events with people studying the same subject as you!

Each Student Association has their own overalls colour, they are listed in ISYY's student calendars! You can watch this Youtube video to learn more about the Finnish higher education overall tradition.

See the list of all Student Associations on ISYY's website to find out your own Student Association:
