You can suggest a candidate to receive a recognition at the ISYY Annual Celebration this spring! Suggestions must be sent with an electronic form by  Sunday 28 January.

SYKETTÄ stickers

Sports stickers for the Spring season are available. It is so easy to buy the SYKETTÄ sticker from the 24/7 online shop. Download the SYKETTÄ mobile app and your sports sticker is there.

If you have problems with the sticker or you don't get the confirmation email or something else, please contact the sports coordinator, sirpa.risto@isyy.fi.

Spring 2024 Ball sports sticker is 22,00 €

• Ball Sports incl. Studentia and Snellmania gyms and weekly training times at co-operation gyms, open ball sports, regular and open shifts, courses and get to know classes.
• Nutrition counselling
• Valid: 1.1.2024 – 31.8.2024

Spring 2024 Group class sticker is 39,00 €

• Group class sticker includes all the SYKETTÄ Kuopio services and also the Ball sports package (gyms, ball sports, get to know classes, courses and nutrition services).
• Valid: 1.1.2024 – 31.8.2024

January and February one-month sticker 15,00 €

• One-month sticker is valid for one calendar month. It includes all SYKETTÄ services, for example group exercise, ball sport turns and gyms. With the one-month sticker you cannot purchase the discount-priced City of Kuopio gym card. No cross-usage with Joensuu.
• Valid: 1.1.2024 – 31.1.2024 and February sticker 1.-29.2.2024

Changes in schedule on Wed 24.1. and Thu 25.1.

Wednesday 24.1.

• Studentia sports hall is not in use 11 am - 12 pm and again not in use starting from 4 pm onwards.
• Changing rooms are not is use starting from 4 pm onwards.

Thursday 25.1.

The Les Mills Sh'bam 45' class at Studio Tempo will change to Les Mills Dance45’. The new class starts from 25th of January.

NOTE! The use Changing rooms at Studentia on weekends:
On weekends if there is a tournament at Studentia the changing rooms ARE in tournament teams' use. If there is a tournament, SYKETTÄ users CANNOT use Studentia's changing rooms.

Swimming Technique I course

• 24.1.-21.2.2024 (price 45 €), enroll

This course is for you if you can swim breaststroke but you are not used to swimming with your head under water. In this course we will practise breathing techniques in the water, floating, gliding and basics of freestyle and backstroke swimming. NB! You must have basic swimming skill (able to swim 25-50 meters).

Sports competitions and tournaments

Enroll for Talvikilometrikisa – Winter Cycling Competition is on!

Kilometrikisa is a light-hearted cycling competition for workplaces, departments, associations, clubs or any other teams and it is held between 1.1.–29.2.2024.

In Kilometrikisa every team member will record their cycling kilometers on the website and the team with the highest number of kilometers will win. All students and staff members of UEF and Savonia University of Applied Sciences are welcome to join the SYKETTÄ Kuopio team!

Finnish Student Alpine Championships on 27th of January 2024

Finnish Student Alpine Championships will take place on the gorgeous slopes of Tahko.

• The giant slalom competition includes the following events: Slalom – skis/snowboard/telemark
• Series: Competitive series for women and men and Unisex. The competition will take place on the Iso Tahko slope.
• Competition format: The competition consists of two rounds, and the winner is determined by the shortest total time.

Tutoring offers many opportunities to learn, for example to develop your communication and coordinating skills.

TAHKOFEST – STUDENT FRIENDLY WEEKEND AT TAHKO!

To experience a winter weekend that unites students, your place is in Tahko on the last weekend of January! Tahkofest 2024 offers a weekend tailored for student’s wallet in the whole ski center.  Student-friendly companies will give you discounts when you flash them your Tahkofest wristband or student card. You can expect fun activities with other students!

The event is organized in collaboration with the Student Union of The Savonia Univercity of Applied Sciences SAVOTTA and Kuopio University Sport Services SYKETTÄ.

If you would like to have something featured in the Weekly Feed, please send a short (max. 500 characters including spaces), informative description of the event/activity in English to either kv.kuopio@isyy.fi (Kuopio events) or kv.joensuu@isyy.fi (Joensuu events).

Please include at least the following information: date, time, place, admission fee and the event website/Facebook page. If you want to include pictures, the optimal size is 270 x 270 px.

Weekly Feed is the English language newsletter of the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY). You are receiving this letter on your email because you are a member of ISYY and are studying at Kuopio campus or because you have joined the mailing list yourself.
