The event is organised with a project fund of Finnish Student Health Service’s (FSHS) Eastern Area’s Kuopio’s Health Working Group in cooperation with UEF, ISYY and Cultural Space ‘Kulttuuripaja Luode’. During the event in the lobby there will also be different associations and operatives that are supporting student’s mental health. You can see the schedule from the end of the page.

Students can join creating art freely on any day and for how long they wish. There will be materials covered by the organiser and also student volunteers or ISYY Board Members to help and guide students joining the project. Come and join creating community art and take a creative break!

The Student’s Mental Health Week is a national campaign week coordinated by Student’s Mental Health Association Nyyti ry. The week is held this year 8.-14.4.2024. This year the theme of the week is equality, especially social accessibility. Social Accessibility means an accepting and appreciative attitude towards diversity.

Equal Community Art on Campuses -project

The purpose of the project called ‘Equal Community Art on campuses’ is to bring the effects of art and culture in one's well-being as a perspective into the student’s well-being work. During the event, student’s will get to join creating the community art work together at the campus lobby. Theme of the art piece will be equality.

Until now, the well-being work in higher education institutions is mainly focused on giving information and on sports themed projects. Effects of culture and art to one’s well-being are now seen more and more as a part of furthering well-being and mental health. According to the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), art activities are in the center of involvement and communality and the feeling of involvement is an important factor in one’s well-being. With artificial and cultural methods we are enriching the day-to-day communication with each other, we aim to get our senses and mind to move and also to tempt our experiences and feelings to rise up.
