UEF Published Instructions for Dealing with Cases of Student Harassment

The University of Eastern Finland has published and put into use instructions, a process and an operating model for dealing with different cases of student harassment. The instructions have been put into use starting from the beginning of the year 2019 and can be found in Kamu. The body responsible for coordinating this work was the Student Well-being and Study Ability Team (HYRY).

The Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY) has actively been a part of making the instructions. It is important to ISYY that the university community is safe and positive for all students.

All university students have a right to a safe study environment. The university community does not tolerate bullying or harassment in any shape or form. The university has decreed that each university teacher and superior has a duty to intervene if they see this happening.

In the event of harassment, a student can contact either one of the Student Union Anti-Harassment Contact Persons Pekka Koivaara (Joensuu) or Mikko Aaltonen (Kuopio).
