The recognitions were awarded by Finland’s Minister of Youth, Sport and Physical Activity Sandra Bergqvist.

Amongst the awarded advocates there were Heli Aalto and Sirpa Risto, who both received the Medal of Merit of the Finnish Sports. Both, Aalto and Risto, are working as University Sports Coordinators in the SYKETTÄ University Sports Services amongst the students and staff of the University of Eastern Finland (UEF) and local Universities of Applied Sciences, Aalto in Joensuu and Risto in Kuopio.

– Student Union congratulates our Sports Coordinators Heli Aalto and Sirpa Risto for the recognitions. Both Heli and Sirpa have a long career in the field of Student Sports and also today they are doing an important work towards the well-being and better daily life for us students. They are always happy and easy-going part of student life, comments the Chair of the ISYY Board Mirka Nieminen.
