The Election Compass for the Representative Council elections of the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY) is now open. The Advance Voting of the elections will begin next week on Tuesday 31 October at 8 am. The Advance Voting is held 31.10.–7.11.2023 and the actual Election Day is 8.11.2023 when the voting will end at 6.00 pm. You can cast your vote in Tuudo, where you can also find the candidate gallery!
The Election Compass operated by the National Union of the University Students in Finland (SYL) is now open for ISYY members to go through! The Candidates of the ISYY elections had a possibility to answer the questions and now you can see, what they have answered. From the Election Compass you can find those candidates, who have answered the questions.
By answering the questions in SYL Election Compass by yourself, you can find the candidate who has mostly the same thoughts as you about these questions. The themes in the Election Compass are advocacy, studies, associations and the student union, city and housing, finances, well-being and subsistence, internationality and finally sustainable development.
Should ISYY collaborate with businesses more actively? Should ISYY maintain balance between campuses when electing people? Does ISYY support student associations and ISYY clubs sufficiently? Should UEF increase the amount of courses that are primarily carried out remotely? See what the Candidates answered.
ISYY also organised Electoral Panels on 24 and 25 October in both campus cities. The Panel Discussions can bee seen from ISYY’s YouTube channel.
